- The oil on deck should never be washed overboard.
- Chemicals should never be used to treat oil already in water, unless authorized by local authorities as this could contravene local laws.
- Danger of fire exists until clean-up is complete and every precaution must be taken in this respect.
- Materials such as saw dust, when used as absorbents for oil, represent a fire hazard and must be stored in safe containers until finally disposed off.
SUBSTITUTE
- If required, Chief Officer for Chief Engineer and vice versa
- Duties of ranks not on board or other than those listed herein shall be assigned by Chief officer / Chief Engineer
