This Permit relates to any work involving temperature conditions which are likely to be of sufficient intensity to cause ignition of combustible gases, vapour or liquids in or adjacent to the area involved.

General:

  1. Starting / finishing time must not exceed the Masters/ Responsible Officer’s working hours.  A fresh permit must be issued thereafter.
  2. Specific location of hot work to be given.
  3. Description of work to include type of equipment to be used.
Section 1

Applies to all hazardous work not involving naked flame or continuous spark production, and would include use of electrical equipment, use of air driven rotary equipment, hammering or mechanical chipping and movement/ lifting equipment or materials over or near operating plant

Section 2

Applies to all hot work involving high temperatures, open flames, electric arc or continuous source of spark etc. This type of work includes but is not limited to welding, burning, grinding, sand or grit blasting, and metal chipping.

Section 3

Permit to be closed out by Responsible officer upon completion of work.
