What is meaning of Loadicator or Loading Instruments on ships ?

A loading instrument is an instrument which is either analog or digital and by means of which it can be easily and quickly ascertained that, at specified read-out points, the still water. Bending  moments, shear forces, in any load or ballast condition, do not exceed the specified permissible values.

The loading instrument may also be used to perform stability checks if it incorporates stability software. If stability software is installed on board vessels contracted on or after 1 July 2005, it should cover all stability requirements applicable to the vessel and is to be approved by classification  society.
