What are types of batteries on board ?

Types of  Batteries :-

  1. Primary batteries
  2. Secondary batteries.
Primary Batteries :-

Primary batteries have single life span. It mean primary batteries cannot be recharged and therefore require periodic  replacement periodically.

Example :- EPIRB/ SART lithium, zinc – carbon and alkaline are primary battery

Advantages of  primary batteries  :-
  1. Operated in wide temperature range.
  2. Long shelf life and high reliability.
  3. The primary battery ranges from 2.6 to 3.6 volts.             
Secondary Batteries :-

Secondary battery can be recharged repeatedly or ability to recharge.

Example :- lead acid batteries.
