Broadcast distress alert and message on the authority of the master.
Instruct crew members to put on lifejackets, and wear adequate and warm clothing.
Instruct crew members to put on immersion suits, if carried, if water temp is below 16 degree Celsius.
Order crew members to lifeboat stations.
Prepare to launch life boats/life rafts.
Ensure that lifeboat sea painters are attached to the ship.
Embark all crew in the lifeboats/life raft and launch.
Ensure lifeboats/life rafts remain in safe proximity to the ship and in contact with each other.
