Types of Batteries :-
- Primary batteries
- Secondary batteries.
Primary Batteries :-
Primary batteries have single life span. It mean primary batteries cannot be recharged and therefore require periodic replacement periodically.
Example :- EPIRB/ SART lithium, zinc – carbon and alkaline are primary battery
Advantages of primary batteries :-
- Operated in wide temperature range.
- Long shelf life and high reliability.
- The primary battery ranges from 2.6 to 3.6 volts.
Secondary Batteries :-
Secondary battery can be recharged repeatedly or ability to recharge.
Example :- lead acid batteries.
