Checklist for SEQ survey ?

General:

A.1 Had any changes been made or new equipment been installed which would affect the validity of the argo Ship Safety Equipment Certificate?

A.2 All instruction and/or notices including the emergency station muster list and training manual were  posted in the appropriate language as required and to the master’s satisfaction.

A.3 All other statutory certificates and the class certificate were valid at the time of survey

A.4 Was there a report of any fire necessitating the operation of the fixed fire extinguishing systems or theportable fire extinguishers since the last safety equipment survey? (If “YES” give details in General

Report”).

B. Documentation

B.01 Fire control plans (including duplicate set) properly posted.

B.02 Muster list

B.03 Training and maintenance manuals

B.03.1 Training manuals for LSA provided (III/36) P

B.03.2 Training manuals for fire safety practice provided (II-2/15.2.3)

B.03.3 Fire safety operational book provided (II-2/16) may be combined with B.3.1 above.

B.03.4 Maintenance Plan for Fire Safety Measures Provided, (may be computer based) (II-2/14)

B.04 Adequate and up-to-date charts, sailing directions, lists of lights, notices to mariners, tide tables and all other nautical publications necessary for the intended voyage.

B.05 International Code of Signals

B.07 Practice musters and drills. It is also confirmed that the person in charge of survival craft and in the case of lifeboats the second in-command have a list of the survival craft crew

B.08 Log book entries as required by Chapter III, and the Master aware of the intent of Chapter II-2, “In all new and existing ships fire extinguishing appliances shall be kept in good order and available for

immediate use at all times during the voyage”

B.09 Date of last crew muster and fire and boat drills (which should include inspection of  those items of operating equipment included on the check list as contained in the instructions for on-board maintenance) and testing of the general alarm system(Required monthly)

B.010 Boats equipment examined at that time and found to be complete. It is further confirmed that weekly  inspections of all survival craft and rescue boats including engines and launching appliances plus the  general alarm system are being carried out and logged

B.12 Last occasion rescue boat was launched and manoeuvred. (Required monthly wherepracticable but interval between launchings and manoeuvrings not to exceed 3 months)

Notes:

1. Each lifeboat is required to be launched and manoeuvred at least once every 3 months, except where this is not practicable in the case of freefall lifeboats when the maximum interval between freefall launches should not exceed six months.

2. Renewal required when necessary but at intervals not exceeding 5 years. Reversal end for end required at intervals not exceeding 30 months.
