An additional piece of metal, 8 in. long, is cast with the piece to be tested, & is cut away for the purpose of the bending test. This piece will be turned down to 1 inch diameter & bent cold by hammering through an angle of 90 degree over a radius of 1.5 inch the casting will be deemed sufficiently ductile if no fracture appears in the metal.

WROUGHT IRON, OR FORGED STEEL ANCHORS ARE NOT SUBJECTED TO THESE TESTS AS THEY ARE FORGED FROM RED TO SLAB BY HAMMERING. ALL OTHER ANCHORS WILL ALSO BE ANNEALED.
