Laytime is the calculated period of time as from commencement of time counting until end of the allowed time for cargo operations according to the charter party. It is important to record all events/occurrences, which may have a bearing on the calculation of laytime. In addition to the individual records (e.g. logbooks) a Statement of Facts should be prepared (before departure) summarising the events/occurrences.
