For fire to exist, the following three elements must be present at the same time
- Enough oxygen to sustain combustion,
- Enough heat to raise the material to its ignition temperature,
- Some sort of fuel or combustible material,
The fire triangle’s three sides illustrate the three elements of fire, which are heat, fuel, and oxidization.
The three elements must be combined in the right proportions for a fire to occur. If any of the three elements are removed, the fire is extinguished
Note:
Fire triangle is used to show the three elements that when present together can cause a fire to start.
These three ingredients are fuel, heat and oxygen, under all circumstances they should be kept apart to avoid a fire starting. Understanding the basic principles of the fire triangle is essential in helping to protect your business and prevent fires from breaking out.
