What are precautions prior and during loading on Tankers as per ICS ?

Before loading commences the following precautions must be taken and must also remain in force whilst the vessel is loading cargo:

• The ICS/OCIMF Ship/Shore safety checklist is to be completed and all required equipment correctly set.
• Prior to commencement of loading Form the Pre arrival and commencement of cargo operations checklist is to be completed. During loading Form During Loading Checklist is to be completed each watch.
• Before connection of the hoses or chicksans, the Chief Officer is to check the ship/shore bonding arrangement. If the Terminal insists on using a bonding wire it must be connected well away from the manifold.
