EXPLANATION OF REFERENCES

1. Call Sign is allotted by the D.G.Shipping.
2. State the class of the ship as defined under the Indian Merchant Shipping (Radio Rules).
3. State whether the ship is a Cargo Ship, Dredger, Fishing Vessel, Launch, Lighter, Light House Tender, Passenger Ship, tanker, Tug, Yatch etc.
4. State the category (viz. First, Second, Third or Fourth Category) of International Public Correspondence, open services as defined in Radio regulations (No. 929 – 933).
5. State whether the station is open to official correspondence exclusively to operational traffic etc.
6. VHF equipment should be capable of operation with 25 Khz spacing in the marine band.
7. Certificate of Inspection may be obtained from a Radio Engineer preferably from the engineer installing the Radio apparatus.
