What are regulations regarding lifeboat fall as per SOLAS ?

Lifeboat Falls

Lifeboat falls are to be approved by the Administration. Whenever Administration approved lifeboat falls are not available (in foreign ports), lifeboat falls duly tested, approved and certified by one of the IACS members.

Maintenance of Falls

• The life of a lifeboat fall is considered five years. The falls shall be inspected periodically with special regard to areas passing through sheaves and renewed, if necessary, due to deterioration of the falls or at intervals not exceeding five years, whichever is earlier.
