What is Sea waves ?

It is the name given to waves, on the sea-surface, created by wind that is presently blowing. The height of sea disturbance, in open waters, is directly related to the wind force as per Beaufort scale. The period of a wave is the time taken for the passage of two successive crests past a point selected by the observer. The height of the wave is the vertical distance between the bottom of the trough and the top of the crest.
