What is MID or Maritime identification digits ?

Maritime identification digits (MID) which identify the country licensing/ controlling the station.

  1. Ship stations :-

MID (for India or Issuing country) 419300021, where 419 indicate country code of INDIA .
Some countries have more than one MID (Maritime identification digit).

We usually refer ALRS – Volume (5).

  1. Group stations :-

One leading zero 041913000 Indicate group of ships.

  1. Coast Stations :-

Two leading zeros 004190018 Indicates coast Stations  MMSI No.
