What is DOC or Document Of Compliance ?

A Document of Compliance is issued to every company which complies with the requirements of ISM code. A copy of the document shall be kept on board while Safety Management Certificate” (SMC) is issued to a ship which signifies that the Company and its shipboard management operate in accordance with the approved SMS.
