IMO has developed the following Model Courses:
ISPS – Company Security Officer ( CSO)
This model course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Company Security Officer (CSO).
ISPS – Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO)
This model course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO).
ISPS – Ship Security Officer ( SSO)
This model course aims to provide knowledge to those who may be designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO).The company shall ensure the Ship Security Plan (SSP) clearly emphasises the overriding authority of the master and his responsibilities in taking decisions with respect to the safety and security of the ship.The company shall ensure that the CSO, the master and the SSO are given the necessary support to fulfil their duties and responsibilities in accordance with ISPS code.
