  1. On 6th March 1992, AM at ship in DR 240 12’S 830 46’E, the azimuth of the star ALTAIR was 0780(C) at 10h 38m 40s chron time. If chron error was 03m 24s fast and variation was 30W, find the deviation for the ship’s head.

  1. On 30th Nov 1992, PM at ship in DR 480 57’N 1730 18’W, the azimuth of the star VEGA was 2960(C) at 07h 27m 12s chron time. If chron error was 12m 10s slow and variation was 30W, calculate the deviation of the compass.

  1. 1st May 1992, AM at ship in DR 620 11’S 1790 58’E, the azimuth of the star SPICA was 3120(C) at 01h 03m 16s chron time (error 03m 08s fast). If variation was 100E, find the deviation for the ship’s head.

  1. On 13th Sept 1992, in DR 300 46’N 900 36’W, the star RASALHAGUE bore 2750(C) at 04h 36m GMT. If variation was 50W, find the deviation of the compass.
(Caution: Date given is ship’s date not GMT date).

  1. On 21st Jan 1992, at 0320 ship’s time, in DR 640 12’N 1120 18’E the star DENEB bore 034.50(C). If variation was 40E, and ship’s time was 7h ahead of GMT, find the deviation.
